My name is Mohd Hifzan Shafiee. I was born in 1984 (still youth, am I?) in Kelantan, Malaysia and I am of Malay descent. So currently my age is 27 years old (2011), I suppose. All my parent is lives in my home town, Kelantan but I migrate to Penang, Malaysia. Hard to find engineering work in Kelantan, so I need to migrate.
My father, Shafiee Zakaria is a teacher who teach at most remarkable religious school in Kelantan, Maahad Muhammadi (Male) school. The school is teaches not only about religion (Islam) but also Science, Accounting, Mathematic and other syllabus same as A level. What ever A level teaches, this school also teach. He can only speak in Malay language, but his Malay is superb. He (Geography & Malay language teacher) even write a book regarding Malay language, just like a living Malay dictionary.
Myself study in normal (secular education) school near the house, not at my father school. Why? So near, why I need to go travel so far( Actually its only 7km, but my school is nearer, 1km). So after that, I go to Matriculation College, Perlis (another state in Malaysia) studying Science, quite tough, but still can survive. Later go to University Science of Malaysia (now top 3 uni in Malaysia), in major Mechanical Engineering for four years (the most toughest). Now I graduated as bachelor of engineering. Targeting to continue for Master degree (MBA) but time cant allowed me to do that.
Actually I regret that I do not study at my father school. It tougher than normal school, comparable A Level syllabus with extra (what do you mean by extra, its double) religion syllabus , mean more knowledge. During childhood, we do not think about education, we just to think finish earlier, and less homework. During my matriculation and Uni, a lot of my friend is coming from this school. Even I excellent during my school but compared to my father school student’s. I just a normal guy. Competitive somehow show us what we were really worth.
Now I working in engineering consulting company, a graduate member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. Pursuing to get full member and Professional Engineer.
My second job is a husband to a medical doctor, it also a tough job. Why? Because I need to take care of my son and daughter during night and weekend if my wife on- call. When my wife being on-call, I am officially become a part time nanny. Hahaha. That’s me.

Hifzan, Your father sounds amazingly brilliant. I am sure you are too. I am trained as an engineer as well. I like how you speak honorably about your father, wife and you are spending time with your children.
